Victor Tsoi. Legend

Saint-Petersburg, Sevcable Port
October 12, 2024 - March 10, 2025
The exhibition "Viktor Tsoi: The Hero's Path", a biopic that premiered in 2022 and featured unique materials from the Tsoi family's personal archives, broke records for its duration in the history of the Moscow Manezh. Two years later, the project returned to Tsoi's hometown on the banks of the Neva, with a new approach and renewed significance, featuring the involvement of the musician's family and relatives.

In comparison with the Moscow exhibition, the one in St. Petersburg is larger in terms of size (3,000 square meters) and number of halls (13). It features more than 300 items related to the life of Viktor Tsoi, including guitars, drawings, personal letters, photographs, stage costumes, paintings from different years, and art images.

For the residents of St. Petersburg, the organizers of the exhibition have prepared some exhibits that have never been seen before. Especially for the St. Petersburg version of the project, the design of the exhibition has changed in some halls, although the overall concept remains the same.
In the first hall, "Leningrad Legend", visitors are greeted by a life-size statue of Viktor Tsoi. In the "Kamchatka" hall, an installation with the scent of a stoker was installed, and in the authentic telephone booths, visitors can hear the voice of Viktor Tsoy from the film "The Needle" by Rashid Nugmanov.

The exhibition has a new room called "Try to Sing with Me", a video installation directed by Elena Brodach. In this room, visitors can sing along with the song, just like in karaoke, with other characters in the video. In collaboration with the Dreamlaser team, we created a light show for the last room, where we play the recording of the song "The Last Hero" from the stadium concert by the modern Kino group. A significant part of the renewed exhibition is a separate children's area based on the book " Tsoi: The Story of a Rock Star in Letters and Pictures" by Denis Boyarinov and Masha Shishova, illustrator.
