TREASURES OF IMPERIAL RESIDENCES. TSARSKOYE SELO

Moscow, State Historical Museum
November 19, 2025 — April 13, 2026
The exhibition introduces visitors to objects from the collections of the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum-Reserve, many of which are rarely shown to the public and are usually kept outside historical interiors. This is an opportunity to see the scale and diversity of the collection, which features works of various types of art that form the rich cultural heritage of the imperial residences.

The architectural design of the exposition is based on a combination of classical forms and a moderately modernist approach. The space is built around accent, at times almost sculptural forms, and the complementarity of details emphasizes their monumentality. This technique creates an expressive rhythm and composition while preserving qualities important to the classical tradition — conciseness, simplicity, elegance, and symmetry.

The scenography of the exhibition allows the exhibits to resonate independently while remaining part of a unified composition. Thanks to this, the richness and diversity of the collection are revealed with particular expressiveness.
