Decline of a Dynasty. The Last Rurikids and the False Dmitry
Moscow, Moscow Kremlin Museums
April 06, 2021 - July 25, 2021
The exposition project serves as one of the tools for revealing the curatorial concept that displays the history of the fall of the Rurik dynasty through objects of that time. The exhibition consists of two parts and takes place in the halls of the Assumption Belfry and the One-Pillar Chamber of the Patriarch’s Palace. In the One-Pillar Chamber the exposition is devoted to the history of Russian sovereigns of the 16th century, and in the Assumption Belfry it is dedicted to the history of False Dmitry I. The architectural scenography repeats the two-part structure of the curator's narrative and these 2 parts are in sharp contrast with one another. At the same time, we tried to maintain the integrity of the story.
