Petrov-Vodkin. Lomakina. Element Crimea

Moscow, The Museum of Moscow
March 17, 2023 - July 13, 2023
Petrov-Vodkin’s work is a unique combination of Russian art (icon painting, folklore, lubok) and the achievements of Western European masters, from the Renaissance to the Post-Impressionists and Symbolists of the early 20th century. The name of Maria Lomakina is considered to be one of the unbased artists of the first half of the XX century, whose work was equally distant from both official socialist realism and avant-garde.

The exhibition «Petrov-Vodkin. Lomakina. Element Crimea.» is divided into two parts. The first part presents portraits, landscapes, sketches of artists of different years.

The second part of the exhibition contains Crimean works by Petrov-Vodkin and Lomakina. In particular, Petrov-Vodkin’s painting «Earthquake in the Crimea» of 1927 will come from the Russian Museum.
