ARCHMOSCOW 2018

Moscow, Central House of Artists
The artistic design of the venue of the Moscow Committee for Architectural and Urban Planning Policy at the ArchMoscow 2018 festival was related to the topic of the exhibition, which was Renovation. The content was based on the results of an international architectural competition for the construction of the first 5 pilot sites in the city. An equal presentation of the works of 20 teams required, on the one hand, a creation of a certain “module” for each participant. On the other hand, it was important to get away from the accepted image of an architectural presentation (a tablet with graphic materials + a layout) and bring key ideas of the contestants to the forefront. Thus, the image of a nominal “archive” of materials was formed. Large-scale portraits of architects and quotes from their speeches at public hearings were displayed on the facade. 20 models designed specifically for the competition became a visual addition. The platform under the “archive” also became a place for content placement, albeit nominal: the podium lined with thin LAMINAM ceramic tiles included an image of a map of Moscow printed in ceramic ink with 5 marked sections.
